Syracuse, N.Y. -- Joe Girard III has committed to play basketball at Syracuse, but he's also the star quarterback at Glens Falls High School.
This Saturday, Glens Falls will take on Batavia in the Class B New York State championship game at the Carrier Dome.
It's the second trip to the state title game in the past three years for Girard and his Glens Falls teammates. As a sophomore, Girard was the starting quarterback for a Glens Falls team that won the Class B title. Last year, Glens Falls fell one game shy of a return trip to the Dome, losing to Pleasantville in the Class B semifinals.
