Syracuse Orange women's lacrosse failed to advance to the NCAA title game as they lost to top-seeded Maryland 19-9 Friday. This marks the fourth-straight year that the Terrapins have ended Syracuse's season.
This one stings more than the others because it was a flat-out domination. Maryland stormed out to an early 6-1 lead and never looked back. Syracuse just didn't have an answer and they went into halftime down 10-2.
The Orange looked out of place in this game. While Maryland oozed confidence, Syracuse looked dazed and discouraged. When Maryland came out to that fast start, you could really sense this one was over.
