Redshirt senior Taylor Gait and freshman Molly Carter scored three goals each to lead the No. 7/5 Syracuse women's lacrosse team to a 17-11 win against Oregon on Sunday in West Linn, Oregon.
The Orange improve to 2-0 on the season.
Syracuse led by eight, 12-4, before Oregon (1-1) scored the final two goals of the first half and the first three of the second to get within three, 12-9, with 27:07 to play.
Carter halted the scoring run as she netted three goals in a row, the last coming on a between-the-legs shot with her back to the net.
