Syracuse, N.Y. -- Punter Sterling Hofrichter became the first Syracuse football player since 2014 to make the preseason All-Atlantic Coast Conference team on Monday.
Hofrichter, a redshirt junior, received 33 voting points from media members at the ACC Kickoff last week. The only other SU product to receive the honor during the school's brief tenure in the conference is offensive tackle Sean Hickey.
A third-year starter, Hofrichter led a punting unit last fall which finishing 10th in the nation in net punting (41.3 yards per attempt) and fourth in punt return yardage defense (2.67 yards per attempt).
