Ediva Zanker, Ioana Turcan and Samantha Usman joined their male counterparts at the United States Intercollegiate Boxing Association National Championship this past weekend.
This past weekend, three female Syracuse University students did something that no one has ever done before. They competed at the United States Intercollegiate Boxing Association National Championship in in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Ediva Zanker, Ioana Turcan and Samantha Usman repped the Syracuse Orange as well as the Syracuse University Boxing Club. Usman, along with male boxers Tom Smith and Tony Chao, qualified for the finals as well. Smith was the lone national title winner for the school while Usman took home 2nd place in the women’s flyweight division.
