Rex Culpepper diagnosed with testicular cancer, will undergo chemotherapy

Syracuse quarterback and special-teams player Rex Culpepper has been diagnosed with testicular cancer and has undergone immediate surgery, per his Instagram.

The caption on the Instagram post reads: “#100 hours of treatment coming soon (over the next 10 weeks.) I hope to be back in ‘Cuse next week.”

In the post, Culppeper wrote he will undergo 10 weeks of chemotherapy due to the cancer spreading to lymph nodes in his abdomen. He added his condition is “highly treatable.”

Culpepper missed Syracuse’s last two spring practices, according to syracuse.com.

Culpepper completed his redshirt freshman season for Syracuse in the fall.
