Swansea midfield lets the side down after Bob Bradley's defensive gamble

Bob Bradley's home debut as manager ended in a frustrating stalemate rather than the win Swansea badly needed. A first clean sheet since the opening weekend was a bonus, and Swansea had enough chances to have won.

Positives

Bradley took a risk by making three changes to his defence, with Mike van der Hoorn and Stephen Kingsley returning to the lineup in place of Federico Fernandez and Neil Taylor, while newcomer Alfie Mawson was given his league debut in place of Jordi Amat. Gambling on the readiness of Mawson and the ability of a new defence to work together was a bold call ahead of a must-win (or at least must not lose) fixture, but it worked.
