Jack Clarke made it a dozen goals for the season to spare play-off chasers Sunderland from a damaging defeat at rock bottom Rotherham.
Michael Beale’s side were heading to a thoroughly demoralising loss when Sam Clucas volleyed the strugglers ahead shortly after half-time.
In all honesty, it was everything Rotherham deserved and they looked on course for back-to-back Championship wins for the first time since October 2022.
But Clarke, as he often has this season, dug Sunderland out of a hole following a much-improved second-half performance with the Millers unable to withstand the pressure.
