NEW ORLEANS - The Sun Belt Conference and ULM announced Saturday that Warhawk head coach Matt Viator will be unable to attend the conference’s annual media day and Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator Mike Collins will represent ULM.
Viator is attending to a family matter.
Collins, a four-year letterwinner at center for ULM from 1979-82, was named to the Warhawk staff in January 2016. It is his third coaching stint with ULM having served as Graduate Assistant during the 1983 and 1984 seasons and Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers coach from 1998 to 2002.
The Sun Belt Conference’s football media day kicks off Sunday, July 23 with the inaugural Sun Belt Fais-DoDo and picks up again the next day with Sun Belt Commissioner Karl Benson scheduled to give his state of the conference remarks at 8:30 a.
