NEW ORLEANS – The men's basketball officiating consortium that includes the Sun Belt, Southeastern, American Athletic and ASUN conferences has added the Southern Conference for the upcoming season, it was announced Wednesday.
The consortium was established to allow the conferences to collaborate on all officiating matters related to recruitment, education and training, scheduling and evaluation of officials in the sport of men's basketball.
Mike Eades, named Sun Belt Coordinator of Men’s Basketball Officials on May 5, serves in the coordinator position for the other four conferences and will oversee all operations of the consortium.
