Marc Muniesa leads the way as Stoke City see off Burnley

Stoke secured back-to-back wins with a deserved 2-0 victory over Burnley in a surprisingly fractious contest at the bet365 Stadium.

Despite looking lost in the opening exchanges, the Potters found their feet and went into the break two goals up thanks to impressive strikes from fringe men Jon Walters and Marc Muniesa.

The second half was a different affair as the visitors grew in confidence, but Stoke held on to add another three points and move up to ninth place in the league.

Positives

Although Burnley did not offer much of a test, the comfort of the players with the revised 3-4-3 formation was pleasing, and the shape has unleashed Xherdan Shaqiri to link up with his colleagues.
