Open house this week for North Riverfront redevelopment plan

ST. LOUIS • City and regional officials are hosting an open house this week to report progress on a plan to redevelop the riverfront stretching north from downtown.

In November, the Great Rivers Greenway trails district commissioned a six-month, $330,000 study of the old industrial sector. The agency hoped to breathe new life into the north riverfront trail — and, through it, sprout shops, businesses, restaurants and homes.

On Wednesday, at downtown’s Central Library, study leaders will begin reporting out their findings.

Great Rivers is working with the City of St. Louis’s development corporation, a variety of local agencies, as well as the planners of the proposed riverfront football stadium.
