Reds score four in eighth to cut Cardinals' lead to 7-5

Joey Votto hit a two-run home run and Cincinnati scored four runs in eighth inning off of relief pitcher Miguel Socolovich, cutting the Cardinals lead to 7-5 at Busch Stadium.

After Votto's homer, Socolovich could not get out of the inning when he allowed a walk and a single with two outs. Kevin Siegrist entered the game and allowed a two-run double by Scooter Gennett and then walked Patrick Kivlehan, forcing manager Mike Matheny to turn to closer Seung Hwan Oh.

Oh got Billy Hamilton to pop out to second baseman Kolten Wong on his first pitch.
