Molina's two-runs single caps three-run fourth for Cards

PHOENIX • After sailing through three perfect innings, Arizona starter Zack Godley encountered turbulence in the Cardinals’ fourth inning Wednesday, walking two batters and hitting one (Stephen Piscotty).

A bases-loaded walk by Jedd Gyorko and a two-run single by Yadier Molina, hitting safely for his 14th straight game, made the score 3-0.

Matt Carpenter became the first runner to reach against Godley on a leadoff walk and Tommy Pham punched the Cardinals’ first hit, a single to right. Piscotty was hit in the left hand although the Diamondbacks challenged, unsuccessfully, that the ball had hit the bat.
