Trevor Rosenthal's last save came Thursday, before he sat out a weekend series in San Francisco becoming a father for the second time.
The St. Louis Cardinals announced Monday that they have recalled closer Trevor Rosenthal from the paternity leave list prior to tonight's series opener against Washington.
In a corresponding move, the team optioned pitcher Sam Tuivailala to Triple A Memphis following Sunday's game in San Francisco.
Rosenthal was home over the weekend for the birth Friday of his second daughter.
