Cardinals still interested in adding a lefthanded-hitting outfielder

ST. LOUIS • Although there are still a few sluggers out there who would alter the look of the Cardinals' lineup or bench, general manager John Mozeliak suggested Sunday that the team is more likely to stick with what it has in its lineup.

That does not mean his winter shopping is over.

The Cardinals remain interested in adding a lefthanded-hitting outfielder to the roster, and they could consider adding another reliever for depth. The Cardinals remain in a bind with their 40-man roster so their preference is to add a free agent on a non-roster deal with the idea he'll be added to the active roster in mid-March when a player like Zach Duke can go on the 60-day disabled.
