Cardinals out-homered by Cubs in loss

Well, that wasn’t fun.

Going into this game, nobody expected the Cardinals to do well. They were in Wrigley facing a dominant CY Young candidate in Jake Arrieta. However, the Cardinals were able to score four runs off of Arrieta in 5.2 innings on five hits.

However, just as I imagined it might go. Michael Wacha simply could not channel the Wacha we all fell in love with in 2013. Wacha left the pitch up far too many times to good Cubs’ hitters and he got burnt.

The Cardinals seemed to have things going right for them when they took the lead in the top half of the fourth inning 2-1.
