MILWAUKEE -- Because they won't need a rotation replacement until Thursday, the Cardinals used Adam Wainwright's placement on the disabled list Sunday to fortify another area of the club.
With Yadier Molina still nursing a tight right knee -- the result of being hit on the knee by a foul tip in Friday's game -- the Cardinals added Cody Stanley to the 25-man roster before their series finale against the Brewers. Stanley, who opened the season with Triple-A Memphis, was expected to arrive at Miller Park just before game time.
Molina, who was pulled from Friday's game in the fifth inning, did not play on Saturday and was held out of Sunday's lineup as well.
