Rockies rock Lynn, Cardinals

The Colorado Rockies’ offense was too much for Lance Lynn and the Cardinals to handle Saturday night, as the Cardinals fell 6-2.

Lynn, who pitched five-plus innings and gave up four earned runs, allowed two home runs in two different innings. Nolan Arenado hit his 26th of the season in the fourth, and Ben Paulsen clubbed his eighth of the year in the sixth.

Five of Lynn’s seven hits allowed went for extra bases. The Rockies would add two more runs in the seventh on Paulsen’s RBI double.

Cardinals shortstop Jhonny Peralta cranked a solo home run off Jorge De La Rosa in the bottom of the fourth to give the Cardinals their first run of the night.
