Reynolds will take his best shot

One player's misfortune is another's opportunity for the Cardinals. At least that's how new first baseman Mark Reynolds looks at it.

Reynolds, a 31-year-old who has played for Arizona, Baltimore, Cleveland, the New York Yankees and Milwaukee, has taken over for Matt Adams, who will be out at least for three or four months with a strained right quadriceps that will require surgery on Friday.

"I'm so sorry for 'Big City,''' said Reynolds, "but I'm going to get my shot and prove that I can still be an everyday player.

"It's going to take my body a couple of days to be reconditioned for it," said Reynolds.
