Colorado Rockies slugger Nolan Arenado cranked a two-run home run in the top of the fourth to extend his team's lead over the Cardinals.
Cardinals starter Lance Lynn walked Carlos Gonzalez. Then on a 1-1 pitch, Arenado clubbed his 26th home run of the season.
The Cardinals now trail 3-0. Lynn ended up loading the bases on a double, an intentional walk and a single, but he was able to strike out Charlie Blackmon, who had tripled and doubled earlier, for the third out.
