Arenado RBI double gives Rockies 1-0 lead over Cards

Colorado third baseman Nolan Arenado smacked an RBI double in the top of the first inning off Cardinals starter Carlos Martinez, giving the Rockies an early 1-0 lead over the Cardinals.

Charlie Blackmon led off the game with a single, but Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina caught Blackmon stealing second base during Jose Reyes' at-bat. Reyes then singled.

With two outs after a Carlos Gonzalez strikeout, Arenado pulled a Martinez pitch deep into left field. Reyes scored on the play.

Arenado now has 78 RBIs this season.

Piscotty in left field against Rockies

With Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday moving to the 15-day disabled list after re-injuring his quad Wednesday night, rookie Stephen Piscotty will fill in the 35-year-old veteran's shoes in left field for Thursday's game against the Colorado Rockies.
