Blues First Captain, Al Arbour, Passes Away

Arbour was 82.

In 231 games with the Blues from 1967-71, Arbour scored two goals and 21 assists (23 points). The defenseman started his career in St. Louis and would go on to play 626 regular season games in the NHL.

Arbour ranks second all-time in NHL coaching wins (782) and games (1,500) but got his start in St. Louis, where he took over as head coach from 1970-71. He also served a second stint behind the Blues bench from 1971-72. He would eventually win four consecutive Stanley Cups as the head coach of the New York Islanders.
