“The Basketball Tournament” is set to begin regional round play July 8th with 64 teams competing for a chance to win $2 million.
The tournament, formatted much as the NCAA tournament held every March, features many former college basketball stars, though anyone over 18 can compete for a spot in the field - which is based, in part on fan voting.
Former Red Storm stars Paris Horne and D.J. Kennedy headline the two-time defending champion Overseas Elite, a team composed of college stars now playing abroad. Horne currently plays for Kouvot of the Finnish Korisliiga, while Kennedy plies his trade for MHP Risen Ludwigsburg of the German Bundesliga.
