Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett and his wife, Pele, announced on Tuesday a partnership with iamtheCODE, an African-led global movement to advance young girls in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
Thanks to the partnership, 100 marginalized girls in Africa will be able to experience S.T.E.A.M. programs.
“I am truly excited to help these girls in Africa to learn how to code and gain technical skills through iamtheCODE,” Bennett said in a statement. “My wife Pele and I are very proud to support the building of solid tech training pipelines in communities in Africa.
