Saturday will mark the 100th straight sellout at Sporting Park Children’s Mercy Park. It will also mark the fourth time these two clubs have met in 2017 across all competitions. Over the prior three meetings the teams have played to a balanced 1-1-1 record, with the first match being a draw at CMP, Dallas winning on the road and Sporting Kansas City winning a thriller in the US Open Cup quarterfinals just over a month ago.
Much has changed for each club since that Open Cup match. Sporting KC have since won again and will be playing the New York Red Bulls on September 20th for a chance to lift their fourth trophy in six years.
