Dom Dwyer’s exuberant, marketable, record-setting tenure with Sporting Kansas City possesses an unsettled future.
Sporting KC has entered trade negotiations with Orlando City SC about a deal involving Dwyer, league sources told The Star.
A trade is not certain, but the talks are ongoing, the sources said. A deal would need to be completed before the MLS summer transfer closes on Aug. 9.
Dwyer was not present for Sporting Kansas City’s practice Tuesday morning.
The return package for Dwyer, if a deal is completed, would include significant financial compensation, potentially approaching league record-setting numbers, a source said.
