Sporting Kansas City Academy forward Gianluca Busio has led the United States U-15 Boys’ National Team to the final of the CONCACAF U-15 Championship in Bradenton, Florida.
The 15-year-old Busio tallied four goals across three group stage victories this week before scoring in Thursday’s 3-0 semifinal win over Panama, helping the United States advance to Saturday’s championship against archrival Mexico at 10 a.m. CT. Busio has bagged a team-leading five goals in a tournament that has seen the U.S. outscore opponents 15-1 and trail for just 12 total minutes.
Saturday’s opponent in the final has been equally dominant, as Mexico has scored 13 unanswered goals while posting four straight clean sheets.
