HATTIESBURG — Southern Miss coach Jay Hopson's already busy off-season just got busier with the announcement that offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson plans to leave for the University of Houston.
Rumors had swirled around Dawson's interest in working for his former boss Dana Holgerson, who recently accepted the head coaching job at Houston.
But Houston tweeted late Friday afternoon announcing a couple of coaches who had already signed on to be a part of Holgerson's new staff as an offensive assistant, and Dawson was on the list.
