Southern Miss: Performance vs. UTSA 'not us'

Losing is frustrating.

Losing the way Southern Miss did last week, a 55-32 setback at UTSA, makes it even more maddening.

And getting blindsided by it all was enough to lead to a long, sleepless night for many around the Golden Eagle football program.

“It’s always fun sitting there looking at your ceiling all night,” first-year Southern Miss coach Jay Hopson said sarcastically Monday. “Those (kinds of games), ones that you kind of didn’t see coming, those are always hard to wake up to the next morning. You’re never happy after a game like that.
