Michael Federico will reportedly be hired as Louisiana-Monroe's next head baseball coach, according to D1Baseball's Kendall Rogers.
Federico, a catcher at Southern Miss from 1995-97, has served as the team's pitching coach for the past eight seasons under Scott Berry. Berry did not confirm the report but said he is aware Federico was pursuing the position at ULM.
"I haven't been told anything concrete," Berry told the Hattiesburg American early Monday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles' pitching staff finished 2017 with a 4.16 team earned run average. Federico was named Conference USA Assistant Coach of the Year in 2015, when the team led the league with a 3.
