JSU tops USM 75-64

Yettra Specks scored a game-high 27 points, and Jackson State led from start to finish to beat Southern Miss 75-64 at home Sunday afternoon.

Southern Miss shot 52.5 percent, but had 17 turnovers that led to 21 points for the Tigers (2-6).

JSU led 43-30 at the half, but Southern Miss (3-3) closed the gap with a 10-1 run to open the half, including six points from Eddie Davis III.

Quinton Campbell's three-pointer got the Golden Eagles within three at the 15:09 mark, but the Tigers answered with a 3 of their own.

JSU eventually pushed its lead back to 67-55 with 2:29 remaining and ended a six-game losing skid.
