Chad Caillet has developed a keen eye for talent over the years.

The longtime Southern Miss assistant baseball coach has recruited and developed some of the best players to suit up for the Golden Eagles. B.A. Vollmuth, Todd McInnis, Tim Lynch, Taylor Braley and Kirk McCarty have all plied their trade at Pete Taylor Park after Caillet helped entice them to don the Black and Gold.

Very few during Caillet’s 10-year tenure on head coach Scott Berry’s staff fall into the category of “complete” player — one of the most hallowed labels he bestows upon anyone.

The likes of Brian Dozier and James Ewing made the cut during their time at Southern Miss.
