Southampton are now working with Hampshire Police to investigate historic allegations of child sex abuse at the club.
Former players have alleged they were groomed and sexually abused at the south coast club for several years and have come forward.
Hampshire Police revealed eight days ago that they were investigating allegations of historic abuse ‘within the football community’ and Sportsmail has learned that since then allegations have been made about more than one person.
However, it is believed that the allegations at Southampton relate to one individual, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
