USF Baseball Beats #5 FSU 4-2 for First Time Since 1989

USF baseball went into Tallahassee Tuesday with a 15-game losing streak spanning 28 years against the Seminoles. But the monkey is off their back with a 4-2 win behind a great pitching performance from some newcomers for the Bulls.

The Bulls were held in check for most of the game by FSU starter Andrew Karp, who went seven shutout innings, scattering three hits and striking out nine.

Things changed when the Seminoles turned to the bullpen to get the last three outs.

RHP Chase Haney got through the eighth in order, but then hit CF Garrett Zech to begin the ninth, prompting a call to the bullpen by head coach Mike Martin.
