Reward reaches $15K in case of dead dog found with cruel note

The killing of a Pomeranian dog in Pembroke Pines has continued to spur donations from around the country. A reward from Broward County Crime Stoppers for information that leads to an arrest has grown to $15,000.

"It's an emotional case, and when you have an emotional case, that's what occurs," Ralph Page, executive director of Broward County Crime Stoppers, said Tuesday.

Foxx, a 7 pound, 13-year-old pet, was found dead Aug. 8 on the steps leading to the back patio of owners Verline Barthelemy, Ronald W. Boisvert and their son Verron, 4.

The family said its veterinarian found the Pomeranian had multiple fractures when its body was discovered at the French Villas condo community in the 7900 block of North French Drive.
