Mother of 1-year-old victim in drive-by shooting arrested on drug charges

PORT RICHEY — The mother of the 1-year-old girl who was shot Sunday night in a drive-by shooting was arrested Tuesday on drug charges.

Pasco County sheriff's deputies took Linda Exline, 24, into custody early Tuesday at her home at 7331 Westcott Drive, the same address where the shooting occurred, according to her arrest report. She is accused of possessing marijuana and the narcotics hydromorphone and oxycodone.

Deputies wrote in the report that Exline gave them consent to search her home after she called 911 regarding the shooting about 11:30 p.m. Sunday. Exline's daughter, Kahmirah Gulley, suffered a gunshot wound through her lower arm when Exline's home was peppered with at least 13 shots fired from a dark sedan on the street, the Sheriff's Office said.
