Miramar Parkway traffic to shift to new bridge over I-75

Eastbound drivers on Miramar Parkway will shift south to a newly constructed bridge over Interstate 75 starting Wednesday night.

The shift, which will affect drivers between Dykes Road west of I-75 and Southwest 148th Avenue east of I-75, is a significant milestone for reconstruction of the Miramar Parkway interchange, officials say.

The configuration will allow crews to begin the next phase of construction.

A new overpass — 60 feet longer and 36 feet wider — is necessary to accommodate a wider I-75 with express lanes underneath and more turn lanes on Miramar Parkway.
