Freshmen Shine on Day Two of Bedford Cup

TAMPA (Oct. 17, 2015)—The USF women’s tennis team wrapped up day two of the Bedford Cup with freshman Nicol Dzenga advancing to the semifinals in the singles main draw.

Dzenga defeated Alexandra Landert of FGCU, 7-6, 6-1, in the quarterfinals to move on to the semis. She will face off against another FGCU player when she takes on Laura Falceto Font Sunday morning in the semifinals.

With doubles partner Vanja Klaric, Dzenga advanced all the way to the main draw finals. The duo topped FIU’s Lazaro and Caluk, 6-1, before falling, 6-0, in the finals to FGCU’s Ascua and Curtis.
