Eriksen, Nevins, Moore Lead U.S. to Silver at Pan Am Games

Team USA fell to host nation Canada, 4-2, in Sunday’s Pan American Games gold-medal game in Toronto, Ontario.

Facing Canada for the third time in the tournament, the U.S. struggled on offense as the game went to extra innings locked in a 0-0 tie before the Canadians exploded for four runs in the top of the eighth inning. The Americans scored two runs of their own in the bottom half of the frame, but their rally and quest for an eighth consecutive Pan American Games gold medal would ultimately fall short.

Eriksen led the Red, White and Blue to a 6-1 record in the tournament while former USF record-breaking pitcher Sara Nevins and new Bulls’ assistant coach Jessica Moore played big roles in the team’s success.
