SURREY, B.C., Canada (July 25, 2016) – USF head coach Ken Eriksen and assistant coach Jessica Moore led Team USA to its first World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women’s World Championship since 2010 with a 7-3 win over Japan Sunday night.
Team USA went undefeated en route to the gold medal game. In the quarterfinals of championship play, Moore threw a complete-game (five inning) shutout over Venezuela to push the Red, White & Blue into the semifinals. Moore was also named the winning pitcher in the championship, throwing 2.2 innings and allowing just one run on four hits.
