TAMPA (Feb. 4, 2016)-- The USF men’s tennis team will look to improve on its fast start in this weekend’s first road trip. The No. 13 Bulls will take on No. 23 Minnesota on Friday at 6 p.m., and powerhouse No. 3 Texas A&M Sunday at noon.
Roberto Cid (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic), the nations 17th-ranked player, and Vadym Kalyuzhnyy (Donetsk, Ukraine) began their 2016 competition in dominating fashion. Neither Cid nor Kalyuzhnyy dropped a singles set during ITA Kickoff Weekend against No. 28 FSU and No. 35 LSU. Kalyuzhnyy won in straight sets four times last season, while Cid accomplished this task eight times in the 2015 campaign.
