TAMPA (Sept. 23, 2016) – After another full day at the Bedford Cup, USF will send Peter Bertran to the finals to battle Florida’s Jordan Belga tomorrow at 10 a.m.
Bertran opened the morning with a quick quarterfinals match where he went 6-4, 6-1 to defeat Remi Chancerel from Florida Atlantic. In the semifinals, Bertran faced his teammate Justin Roberts. The Bull versus Bull matchup went to a super tie break where Bertran would eventually best Roberts, 6-3, 1-6, 10-7.
Alberto Barroso-Campos also competed in the singles quarterfinals today, but fell to Belga. The freshman won the first set, 6-3 before dropping the next two and the match, 3-6, 6-4, 10-2.
