South Carolina gets commitments from 2 offensive players

The SEC had 51 players selected in this year’s NFL draft, the 10th consecutive year the league has had the most draftees.

The league had 29 players selected Saturday, the third day of the draft, which incorporated rounds four through seven. The Big Ten had had the most players selected through the first three rounds (23, to the SEC’s 22), but had just 24 Saturday to enable the SEC to again finish with the most draftees. The Pac-12 was third with 32 draftees, and the ACC and Big 12 tied for fourth with 26.

Among the SEC alums drafted Saturday were Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott, who went in the fourth round to Dallas; South Carolina wide receiver Pharoh Cooper, who went in the fourth round to Los Angeles; Missouri linebacker Kentrell Brothers, who went in the fifth round to Minnesota after leading the league in tackles; Arkansas running back Alex Collins, who went in the fifth round to Seattle after becoming just the third back in school history to reach the 1,000-yard mark in each of his first three seasons.
