It’s official: Clippers sign Thornwell

South Carolina basketball great and Los Angeles Clippers rookie Sindarius Thornwell signed his first NBA contract Thursday, the team announced via its Twitter page.

Terms of the deal were not immediately known, but Thornwell indicated last week he would be signing a three-year deal with the Clippers.

The SEC Player of the Year and third-leading scorer in USC history, Thornwell was drafted No. 48 by the Milwaukee Bucks and then promptly traded to the Clippers.

He will wear No. 0 in Los Angeles, the same number from his South Carolina days.

“I was a little nervous, but once the game got going and I started getting to the free-throw line a little bit, I got real comfortable,” Thornwell said last week of his NBA summer-league debut.
