When the Houston Texans line up on the field for the opening week of the NFL season, former South Carolina star Jadeveon Clowney should be right there with them.
That was the word Wednesday from Texans head coach Bill O’Brien, who told reporters in Houston that the former No. 1 overall draft pick was on track to play in week one of the regular season. Clowney is coming off knee surgery which cut short his rookie campaign.
“He wants to be in there more, which is a good sign. He’s feeling pretty good,” O’Brien said.
“He’s worked hard to get to this point, and we’ll keep inching him forward to be able to go in that first game.
