It didn't take Mark Daniel long to figure out that Tra Minter was different from other high school running backs he'd coached.
Daniel took over as head football coach at Schley County High School in tiny Ellaville, Ga. (population: 1,800), just in time for Minter's senior season of 2014. Minter suffered a sprained MCL during one game, and had to miss practice the following Tuesday to receive treatment.
Make that, he had to miss PART of a practice.
"He came back with 45 minutes left in practice, got the manager to open the locker room, got dressed and was on the field before we even knew it," Daniel said in a phone interview with AL.
