SOUTH ALABAMA MEN'S SEASON COMES TO AN END AS JAGS FALL TO NO. 4 SEED LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE

NEW ORLEANS - The eighth-seeded University of South Alabama men's basketball team saw its 2015-16 season come to an end Friday evening as the Jaguars fell, 90-68 to No. 4 seed Louisiana-Lafayette in the quarterfinal round of the Sun Belt Conference held at Lakefront Arena.

Louisiana-Lafayette (17-13) used a 12-0 first-half run to build a double-digit lead and Shawn Long led all scorers with 34 points as the Cajuns eliminated South Alabama (14-19) from the league tournament.

The 12-0 run was helped by six USA turnovers, and the Jaguars went over seven minutes between field goals. ULL forced the Jags into 19 turnovers in the game and held a 27-7 advantage in the points off turnovers category.
