MOBILE, Ala.| Former South Alabama men's basketball player Kevin Samuel will begin his professional career overseas as he has signed with Aix Maurienne Savioe Basket based in Aix-les-Bains, Savoie, France. Commonly known as AMSB, the club is a member of Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB) and in the Pro B league.
In his one season at South Alabama, Samuel was named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year after leading the league in blocked shots (86 – 2.5 per game) and ranking fourth in rebounding (9.0). His 2.5 blocks per game ranked eighth across all Division I players, while his 86 blocked shots were seventh most nationally.
