The opening day of the Sun Belt baseball tournament was canceled due to rain on Tuesday, with Wednesday's scheduled games still up in the air.
It rained much of the day Monday and Tuesday in Statesboro, Ga., rendering the playing field at Georgia Southern's J.I. Clements Stadium unplayable. A pair of opening round games -- Arkansas State vs. Georgia State and Texas State vs. Little Rock -- were washed out.
There were four games scheduled for Wednesday, including South Alabama vs. Troy at 8 a.m. Central. However, a revised schedule will not be determined until field conditions are assessed on Wednesday morning.
